Lung Cancer

Asbestos-caused lung cancers can take several forms (squamous cell, adenocarcinoma, small cell and large cell) and occur in all areas of the lung. While lung cancer is often associated with cigarette smoking, asbestos plays a significant role in lung cancer development. Asbestosis is strongly linked with the development of lung cancer.

There is no legitimate question in the medical community that asbestos causes lung cancer. Asbestos typically enters the body through inhalation and attacks the respiratory system. People who have been exposed to asbestos and who also smoke have a far greater chance of developing lung cancer than smokers without asbestos exposure.
