A PACK OF
WOLFHOUNDS
This majestic and enormous breed is truly the stuff of medieval legend.
Believed to have come to Ireland from Greece as early as 1500 B.C., the Irish Wolfhound’s historical significance is rich and profound. The first written account of these magnificent dogs dates back to 391 A.D., when seven of them were gifted to the Romans. In later years, Irish Wolfhounds were coveted by royal families in France and England, often presented as gifts, just as they had been in Rome. These dogs were not only useful for hunting but also cherished as household pets and excellent companions. By the 1700s, Wolfhounds had hunted Ireland’s wolves into extinction, further cementing their place in history.
