About Andrew O’Brien

Professional Background
For the past 20 years, Andrew has concentrated his practice on mesothelioma and asbestos law. A native of Dublin, Ireland, Andrew graduated from University College Dublin Law School in 1986, and worked with the firm of Gaffney & Halligan for four years. Then, after moving to the United States and graduating from the Saint Louis University School of Law, Andrew founded the O’Brien Law Firm to commit all of his energy and resources to fighting to gain compensation for victims of asbestos diseases.
As a licensed asbestos attorney in Missouri, Illinois and the Republic of Ireland, he has successfully tried numerous cases to verdict. In 2001, the Missouri Bar Foundation cited Andrew O’Brien for “outstanding trial work” and presented him with the prestigious Lon O. Hocker Award, an award given annually by the Missouri Bar Foundation to young lawyers who have demonstrated unusual proficiency in the art of trial advocacy.
Andrew has also served on the Judicial Commission for the 22nd Judicial Circuit for the city of St. Louis, testified in front of both the House and the Senate and currently serves on the board of governors for the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys (MATA).
In his spare time, Andrew is an active part of the Irish music community in St. Louis and accomplished Irish violin player. He and his wife, Lori, have two daughters and a son.
