As December draws to a close and we reflect on the passing year, we thank our many clients for trusting us with their very important mesothelioma, asbestos injury, and crime victim cases.

2023 has proven to be a successful year for our law firm and clients alike. Here, we highlight just a few of the notable accomplishments the O’Brien Law Firm has been fortunate enough to reach for others.

$75 Million Verdict for a Car Crash Victim

Attorney Grant Boyd represented the family of a 21-year-old killed in a senseless car crash. $4 Million to date for an Insulator With Mesothelioma

Attorneys Jerry Fitzgerald and Bart Baumstark represented a retired Local 1 insulator diagnosed with malignant mesothelioma. This case was diligently prepared for trial and resolved with all solvent defendants in the civil tort system. Current settlements total $4,000,000, with efforts underway to collect additional amounts through the asbestos bankruptcy claim and enhanced benefit workers’ compensation systems.

$1.3 Million to date for an Insulator With Lung Cancer

Attorneys Jerry Fitzgerald and Bart Baumstark represented a retired Local 1 insulator suffering from lung cancer. Our client, a current and lifelong cigarette smoker, had clear markers of underlying asbestos disease. This matter was settled at the courthouse steps with all active civil defendants for $1,300,000. We are currently in the process of obtaining further settlements through the asbestos bankruptcy claim system.

$1.3 Million for a Banking Executive With Mesothelioma

In an enhanced benefit workers’ compensation case, attorneys Adam Reynolds and Tom Stewart represented a banking executive who tragically contracted and died from malignant mesothelioma. The asbestos exposure evidence was hotly contested, and the case in general was fiercely defended right up to the hearing when it resolved for $1,300,000 in workers’ compensation benefits alone.

$1.2 Million Judgment for an Insulator With Asbestosis

In an asbestosis case filed on behalf of a former Local 1 insulator, attorneys Adam Reynolds and Tom Stewart recovered over $1,200,000 for our client. Our client will receive further benefit payments for the remainder of his life as well.

O’Brien Law Firm lawyers Adam Reynolds, Tom Stewart, Jerry Fitzgerald, and Bart Baumstark represented the widow of a retired Local 396 ironworker who suffered and died from malignant mesothelioma.
