Luke Baumstark
Luke Baumstark brings over two decades of diverse legal experience to O’Brien Law Firm, where he serves as a dedicated advocate within the firm’s Victims Advocacy Department. His work focuses on representing survivors of sexual and physical abuse, as well as pursuing personal injury claims on behalf of clients.
Luke began his legal career with O’Brien, enjoying a short tenure before going on to prosecute criminal cases at the Office of the Circuit Attorney in the City of St. Louis. In a full-circle moment, he rejoined the firm in April of 2025, now bringing with him a wealth of litigation and trial experience, along with a deep commitment to justice.
Luke earned his law degree from Washington University School of Law, where he received an Award for Excellence in Oral Advocacy and served as an editor for the Global Studies Law Review. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Connecticut, graduating magna cum laude.
Luke draws his expertise from his broad background in both civil and criminal law. His career includes five years as an Assistant Circuit Attorney in the City of St. Louis, just under five years in civil defense at a mid-sized law firm, and an additional decade spent primarily working on his own to handle complex civil litigation, plaintiff’s personal injury, and criminal defense for indigent clients. Luke has tried dozens of cases to verdict and was honored with the “Trial Star” award in 2007 for securing five victories in one year. In 2016, Missouri Lawyers Weekly recognized him as an “Up & Coming Law Firm Leader” for his impact at a prior firm.
Motivated by a passion to improve the world around him, Luke uses his public speaking and persuasive writing skills to help those in need and create meaningful outcomes for his clients.
